Words for the Weekend

For many of us mothers, feeding people is our love language. When we are too intimidated to express our feelings, particularly when sadness is involved, we resort to casseroles. Bake chicken, cut up carrots, and roll out pie dough. These are the hand motions of a friend who longs to soothe a mother's broken heart. And somehow, miraculously, they do.

HERE'S a great solid recipe for chicken pot pie; it won't disappoint and the best thing about it is you can keep all the ingredients in your pantry and refrigerator to have on hand.  (I keep cans of cooked chicken so I don't have to thaw, cook, etc but the new instapots make it super fast to cook up some chicken too. Refrigerated pie crust will keep in your fridge for a long time and is a big time saver.) This recipe, a handful of ingredients, and a box of brownie mix, and you're all set to lend a hand when it's needed.
