Words for the Weekend - The heart's enduring ability to uplift
I have yet to grow accustomed to my crepey neck, my wrinkled elbows, the small puckered lines gathering around my mouth. But I am choosing not to dwell these days on what gravity is drawing downward, and to focus instead on the heart's enduring ability to uplift. I know now to be grateful for every night of peaceful sleep, for my husband's embrace, for every morning that I swing my two strong legs out of bed and look forward to the day.
