Things I don't love

If you've read any of the books from the Mitford series, you're familiar with lines where Father Tim asks his pretty neighbor, Cynthia what she DOESN'T love.

Cynthia is ever the enthusiast about life, and generally loves everyone and everything, except for a few things.

In keeping with Cynthia fashion, I've started my own list - what I don't love:

conversation about politics - everyone talks but who is listening?
social media rants
humidity
school shootings

sushi
drivers who tail gate
black ice on roads
flags flown, or scripture quoted, out of hatred
scorpions
sentences that start with 'you should' or 'you need to'
rap music
turnip greens
bullies of any kind
driving in fog
men and women who belittle their spouse
know it alls
mustard greens
mealy textured apples

fire ants
tornadoes
collard greens
cancer
writers who take the lazy way out and write about smut
that the 'F' bomb has become common language
being told 'no problem' rather than 'you're welcome'
cowlicks
brain freeze from Sonic slushies
broken ice makers
too many miles between people I love
insecurity
anchovies
cruelty to animals
knowing kids go hungry during the summer months
hearing parents count to three
arthritis
cigarettes
people who let their dogs bark on endlessly
blaming our parents instead of changing ourselves

What about you? What's on your list?

Anchovies, ick. I remember that Dad liked them on his pizza back when we were kids. So gross, but what a smart way to keep us from eating all the pizza!

Ha! I still remember that, so awful! And he still loves them...
